KAREN WILKENS
DIRECTOR - PRODUCER

Karen Wilkens is a three time Emmy Award Nominee and DGA Award Winner for her work on NBC's daytime drama, Passions. Having worked there from the very beginning right up until the end ten years later, there isn't much Karen hasn't seen. Because Passions was a unique show with many magical storylines, Karen had the opportunity to direct a multitude of scenes, from comedy to drama, from action and fights, to green screen. She also excelled in working with children and animals (orangutans, cows, turkeys, snakes, to name but a few) in addition to plain old boring adults. Before that Karen had worked her way up the television ladder from production secretary to director, first at Another World, and then Guiding Light, both daytime dramas in New York.

The comedy scenes on Passions prepared Karen well for her first foray into film, Four Steps. In addition to directing and producing this short, Karen has also produced and directed another mini short regarding Prop 8 in California, as well as two Public Service Announcement's (PSA) on the same topic. These two PSAs, starring Lucy Lawless and Eva Tamargo garnered a lot of attention when they were released on Youtube.com and MySpace Video. Karen is also currently in post-production with a television pilot hosted by comedian Erin Foley called Dishin' It Up, and is in pre-production on two other projects.

JENNIFER MEDVIN
SCREENWRITER - EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Jennifer Medvin is a writer/producer/director whose diverse tastes and talents lead her to various types of projects. Since moving from the Napa Valley to Los Angeles, Jennifer has learned the ins and outs of the film industry from some of the very best in Hollywood!

She was a Top Ten Winner in the ScriptWritersRus National Search and has consistently placed highly in screenplay competitions such as American Accolades, Acclaim TV/Film, Scriptapalooza TV/Film and Scr(i)pt Magazine's Open Door.

Break-up Bob, Jennifer's first short film which she wrote and produced, garnered many awards including Audience Favorite: Tacoma Film Festival and Best Comedy Nominee: Aspen Shortsfest and Sonoma Valley Film Festival. Four Steps, which Jennifer wrote and produced, is making the film festival rounds right now. This is her second film to hold its US Premiere at the prestigious Palm Springs International ShortFest and Four Steps recently received a “Programmer’s Pick” at the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival.

Jennifer also produced the film, Helping Hand (starring Paula Marshall) and wrote/produced The Difference, an equal marriage rights Public Service Announcement, narrated by Lucy Lawless (English version) and Eva Tamargo (Spanish version.)

Jennifer began her working career as a flight attendant for United Airlines. Her traveling and cultural experiences opened her eyes to different characters and places of interest for her stories. She also considers her medical background as a perioperative registered nurse to be very beneficial to her writing. You can usually find her in-between surgeries working on her writing.

Jennifer currently lives in Los Angeles with her family, is filming the feature documentary, Baby, is in preproduction with a weekly television travel series and is in various stages of production with a myriad of other projects.
